Tasting notes
A white golden color opens the 2012 Riesling Calcaire ,which shows a beautiful intensity, elegance and gentle smokiness on the nose. Sourced mainly from the calcareous holdings in the village of Gueberschwihr, and complemented with Rieslings from the alluvial soils of Turckheim, this is a pure, round, and complex wine with a long, salty finish and very good structure. The residual sugar of 8 grams per liter gives a perfect roundness and balance to this fresh, mineral and firmly structured wine with its nice lemon aromas in the aftertaste that drinks perfectly now, and over the next seven or eight years.
