Tasting notes
The cooler terroir of the Clos let the 2012 Gewürztraminer Clos Windsbuhl ripen slowly up to extra ripeness with a small percentage of noble rot whereas the acidity remained stable. The golden-colored wine opens with a deep and intense, very mineral but also aromatic bouquet of lemon zests, ripe peaches and limestone flavors. Full-bodied, elegant and powerful, this rich, intense, and persistently mineral and well structured wine develops a great complexity and length, whereas the residual sweetness of 50 grams is well integrated. Also, the tannic structure gives this excellent Gewurz from the famous Clos an excellent aging potential.
