Score 86/100 · Allen Meadows, Burghound

This is the ripest among the wines from Fixin with exuberantly fresh aromas of dark currant, earth and a hint of the sauvage. There is a lovely sense of underlying tension to the solidly well-concentrated and delineated medium-bodied flavors that terminate in a rustic and slightly disjointed if persistent finish. This is awkward at present and it's not entirely clear that it will harmonize with time in bottle. Tasted: Jan 15, 2014. Drink: 2016+
