The 2010 Guardiavigna is 60% Cabernet Franc, 25% Merlot and 15% Petit Verdot. This assembly of fruit contributes to a dark consistency and a brooding, masculine style. Cherry liqueur, blackberry preserves, tobacco, spice and grilled herb compete for your attention. The wine is fleshed out and opulent with thick lines and deep penetration. The texture of the wine is of particular interest. It is smooth and seamless, yet firm and structured at the same time. Pretty earth tones of truffle and terra-cotta appear on the close.
