(tasted from cuve): Musky, slightly diffuse aromas of raspberry, herbs, fresh blood and pepper. Juicy flavors of red fruits, herbs and spices thin out a bit toward the back, with the finish showing a rather dry, peppery character.
Sweet licorice, mint, new leather, dark red/blackish fruit and minerals emerge from the 2012 Morey-Saint-Denis. A pretty, nuanced wine, the 2012 impresses for its detail and persistence. All the elements fall into place nicely in a village level Morey that will drink well right out of the gate.
There is a touch of reduction to the nose that flattens the fruit but there is good freshness and ripeness to the attractively textured medium-bodied flavors that possess good length on the notably firm finish. Tasted: Jan 15, 2014. Drink: 2017+
