Tasted blind at Flint Wines’ 2007/2012 Nuits Saint-Georges tasting in London. The 2012 Nuits Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Saint-Georges from Regis Forey has a brambly red berry-driven, slightly disjointed bouquet that would benefit from more focus. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin and good weight in the mouth. Perhaps a little conservative, this is a Nuits Saint Georges that wants to play it safe. Capable, but not extraordinary. Tasted November 2016.

Tasted blind. Mid crimson. Some evolution and something approaching a pruney character on the nose. Bright fruit with softening tannins on the palate. Very friendly and flattering. Dry but not too drying finish. (JR)

(two-thirds new oak): Bright medium red. Ripe aromas of red cherry, smoke and leather. Sweeter and more open-knit on entry than the Petits Monts, showing excellent breadth and creaminess. Then turns more tannic, even a bit dusty, on the dry, broad back end. I find the oak element less harmonious here than in the Petits Monts.

Good full red. More precise on the nose than the Perrieres, offering scents of blueberry, mocha and spices; smells more concentrated too. Then dense, silky and voluminous in the mouth, with a suave, liqueur-like flavor of maraschino cherry. Thicker than the Perrieres but is it as lively?
