Tasting notes
83% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc. Cork closure. Bright mid crimson. Really quite subtle and fresh on the nose. Relatively light in terms of weight and there is no shortage of acidity, but I could do with the fruit's having been picked perhaps just very slightly earlier to retain vibrancy. Nice balance and nothing exaggerated, but the tarriness seems to trump the fruit very slightly. (JR)

This understated 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Cyril Henschke is close to its peak, with fine and fresh aromas of redcurrant, crushed herbs and just a smidge of cedar. It still feels tight, even a touch lean, with gravelly, herbal-edged flavors as the dominant feature, although with genuine refinement and length. This is best left another five years for optimal drinking.
