Tasting notes
A touch tight on the nose, though there is some depth here. Poise. Some clay Pomerol weight in the mouth and a solid core of Pomerol fruit. This is very good and should blossom with some elevage. A lovely Conseillante. Joss Fowler, FINE+RARE, April 2014.

The 2013 La Conseillante lacks a little concentration on the nose, with dusty red fruit and a touch of the old attic. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly more body than its peers, nicely balanced, light red fruit laced with tobacco and black pepper. Slight greenness just pops up on the aftertaste, and overall, you cannot help but wish there was more substance. Tasted at Bordeaux Index's 10-Year On tasting.
Richer than most with some savour and character. Really quite enjoyable! In a fairly lightweight way … (JR)
Hard to find intense aromatics on the nose in 2013, but La Consillante has a deft, sculputed feel, and there is still apparent fruit, brambled raspberry, soft waves of pureed strawberry. Gentle tertiary curl of tobacco leaf, this is enjoyable, but acidity is intrusive on the finish. 65% new oak.
