65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot. Harvested 2 to 15 October. Bright crimson. Youthful fruit-driven nose with dark fruit to the fore. Plenty of acidity on the palate so fresh but a touch edgy as well. Present tannins and slightly drying finish. Not sure the fruit will hold. (JL)

The 2013 Domaine de Chevalier offers slightly smudged dark berry fruit entwined with black tea and clove. The palate is medium-bodied with light frame tannins, a bit dry on the mid-palate, though it redeems itself with a dash of white pepper on the slightly fleshy, savory finish. Drink this now and over the next five to six years. Tasted at Bordeaux Index's 10-Year On tasting.

Deep, glowing crimson still. Dry and fresh but there is fruit here. It's still very embryonic though. It shows the freshness of the appellation but is still unresolved. This is one of those wines that may eventually resolve itself and surprise us. (JR)

Unfussy, with character to the dark berry fruits, soft tannins, tobacco, black tea and cold ash. During En Primeur owner Olivier Bernard explained the vintage as being ‘... like a tightrope, everything had to be done so carefully’. The result is enjoyable, although once again it's best to drink soon to make the most of the fruit. Harvest October 1 to 18, optical sorting machine used for the first time.
