Score 91/100 · Drink 2018-2028, Monica Larner, Wine Advocate, Apr 2018
The 2010 Barolo Fossati opens to heavy lines and dark concentration. The bouquet offers tobacco, ripe fruit, blackberry, espresso and other incarnations of the bold side of Barolo. The wine's winning card is its textural richness that is firm but smooth. This expression from the Fossati cru ages in barrique for 15 months and then goes into large oak casks for an additional 15 months.

La Morra. Quite deep and youthful-looking ruby. A little reductive and savoury. Concentrated, almost dense yet focused fruit on the palate. Lots of grainy tannins. Embryonic. (WS)
