2010 Barolo Bricco Boschis

Tasting notes
There is a great deal here on the nose even though there is a great deal more to come from this. Plenty of fruit. This has softened and opened since tasted in Barolo in March. Minerality, nuts, and balsamic spice. Quite full bodied on the palate, with densely packed tannins. This needs time and will turn out to be very good indeed.

Sweet rose petals, hard candy, cinnamon, mint and new leather open up in the 2010 Barolo Bricco Boschis. Sweet, layered and exceptionally polished, the 2010 is a superb example of the year. At the same time, there is more than enough fleshiness to allow the 2010 to drink well with just a few more years in bottle. Expressive floral and spiced notes reappear on the finish. This is one of the best young vintages of the Bricco Boschis I can remember tasting.
Bags of fruit and just the start of complexity – sweet baking spice and cigar box as it opens. Closed down on the palate with the fruit compressed between the fine, dry tannins but I think this is going to be fantastic. (JH)
Lavender, smoke, plums, black cherries, leather and licorice are some of the notes that meld together in the 2010 Barolo Bricco Boschis. Just bottled, about three weeks ago, the 2010 boasts gorgeous tension, energy and class to back up its considerable depth. This especially dark, imposing Bricco Boschis should drink well for many years.
