2011 Puligny Montrachet Sous Le Puits

The 2011 Puligny Montrachet Sous Le Puits is slightly deeper in colour compared to the 2012. The nose is quite herbaceous at first, with green bell pepper and peaty scents emerging with aeration. The palate is balanced with a spicy entry, the bell pepper note coming through from the aromatics, with a pleasant fatness toward the finish.

(20% new oak): Bright lemon-yellow. Delicate peach flesh and pit aromas. In a supple, elegant, fine-grained style; on the soft side for this cuvee but with good grip and length. Has some fat but ultimately a wine of only moderate concentration and flavor complexity.

Bright yellow. Pure if slightly reduced nose offers fruit salad and flowers. The best density, intensity and cut to this point, with a refreshing juiciness to the gentle yellow fruit and spice flavors. A touch of dusty minerality energizes the persistent finish.
