Tasting notes
Light greenish gold in color, the 2003 Chardonnay Three Sisters shows orange blossom, crushed rocks, white currants, and hints of caramel and honeysuckle, with full-bodied flavors and zesty acidity. This wine can easily last up to a decade. Medium yellow. Slightly reduced aromas of pineapple, biscuit and crushed stone; this smells like Schlossberg riesling. Then fat and rich but a bit reduced and warm today, and very difficult to taste. In a rather brooding stage and rather uncompromisingly dry, with a light saline element on the back. But the wine's clean flavors and firm minerality leave me optimistic for its future development in bottle.
