Tasting notes
Score 94+/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Sep 2021

Bright yellow. White peach, licorice, clove, honey and hazelnut on the nose. Smooth, thick and sweet but with serious, harmonious acidity giving shape to this highly concentrated, superrich wine. Spreads out to coat the entire palate and finishes with explosive, rising length. The yield here was a generous 45 hectoliters per hectare, according to Eric Germain, who noted that millerandage is not an issue in these vines.

Oak more immediately obvious than on the Corton-Charlemagne, plus a hint of smoky reduction. That struck-match character reinforced on the palate but deliciously so. Very long and sophisticated with wonderful piercing freshness. Fabulous clarity and purpose.
