Score 92/100 · Allen Meadows, Burghound, Jul 2005

(from a 3 ha parcel of 30+ year old vines on the Chassagne side, situated just below Montrachet, that produced 5 barrels in 2003 rather than the ususal 7). Very generous wood notes frame ripe white flower and orchard fruit aromas that combine with focused, rich and powerful flavours that like the Caillerets retain an unusually fine sense of elegance and purity. There is notable precision with fine complexity and a penetrating, highly persistent finish. A terrific effort and one that will repay short term cellaring
