The 1999 Pommard Jarollieres has a tar, blackberry, and cassis liqueur-scented nose. This in-your-face, powerful, asphalt, tar, blackberry, and licorice-flavored wine has outstanding depth, ripeness, and length. It is extremely ripe and has an impressive density of fruit. Bright ruby. Aromatic nose combines raw redcurrant, blackberry, iron and tobacco. Supple, dense and silky; nicely delineated flavors of black fruits and gunflint offer sneaky intensity. Quite firmly structured. Finishes long and fresh.
