La Morra. Just mid ruby with bricky tinges. Savoury, minerally notes with a hint of walnut skin and dried fruit. Quite understated on the palate after the power of Brunate. Fully integrated acidity, just striking a balance. (WS)

The 2010 Barolo Rocche dell’Annunziata represents the first vintage that this single vineyard is bottled on its own (in the past, fruit from this vineyard was blended with the Torriglione cru). This wine is the sweetest of the bunch with bright cherry notes, even a touch of apricot, followed by soft, chewy tannins. The wine is luscious, supple and rich. This is the most immediate of Roberto’s new releases. Drink: 2017-2032. Jun 2014, www.robertparker.com
