Score 90/100 · Drink 2001-2008, Pierre Rovani, Oct 1999
The dark ruby-colored 1997 Chambertin has spicy, blackberry, and cinnamon-laced aromas. It is dense, concentrated, well-extracted, masculine, and broad-shouldered. This medium to full-bodied, thick, chocolate, mocha and cassis-crammed wine is backward, yet has the intensity of fruit and structure for moderate cellaring. Projected maturity: 2001-2008. Louis Latour has a different importer in each state.
