Score 93/100 · Drink 2020-2040, William Kelley, Wine Advocate, Jul 2020

Alexandre Gaunoux remarks that the 2006 Pommard 1er Cru Les Grands Epenots "was very acidic to begin with," but it its showing very well today, opening in the glass with notes of red berries, candied peel, sweet soil tones and a deft framing of cedary oak. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, satiny and melting, with a lively core of fruit, supple tannins and a tangy finish.

Domaine Michel Gaunoux

Domaine Michel Gaunoux is today run by Michel’s grandchildren, Anne and Alexandre, with a guiding hand from their mother. Everything here is extremely traditional, and the family has been quietly making rich, complex and age-worthy Pommard and Corton for over half a century.
