Score 98/100 · David Schildknecht, Wine Advocate, Oct 2006

The 2005 Urziger Wurzgarten Riesling Trockenbeerenauslese smells of marzipan, lemon candy, and strawberry jam. Strikingly viscous and creamy on the palate with strawberry preserves, nut cream, and a vanilla custard character, it offers enormous density yet preserves the elegance and refinement that are hallmarks of the vintage here. An extraordinarily long finish layers baking spices, jam, nut paste, vanilla, and citrus and resonates like organ chords in a cathedral.
