Score 96/100 · Drink 1990-2010, Robert Parker, Jan 1990
The Clos Vougeot was mind-blowing, and I lament the fact that only 75 cases are available for the entire world. It was one of the most concentrated, dramatic red burgundies I tasted from the 1988 vintage, and textually, resembled to the port-like Bordeaux produced in 1947. Extremely velvety, supple, but oozing with cassis and raspberry-like fruit, this intensely concentrated, fascinating wine with its dazzling bouquet and flavors should last for at least two decades. All of Confuron's wines are bottled unfiltered.
