Score 89-92/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous
(a negociant wine, aging in 100% new oak; Boillot purchases the grapes and is able to do a strict triage Deep ruby-red. Perfumed, sweetly oaky aromas of superripe cherry, bitter chocolate, spices and mint; strong element of torrefaction. Superripe but still a bit closed in on itself. Boasts very good but not outstanding material. Finishes with big, chewy, granular tannins that grew with aeration.
