Tasting notes
The expressive nose is now full-on secondary with plenty of earth character to the rounded, suave and velvety medium weight flavors that possess excellent complexity and fine length on the balanced and intense finish. This is a relatively elegant example that is drinking perfectly now though should continue to do so for another 10 to 15 years to come. Consistent notes.

This bright, medium-to-dark ruby/purple-colored wine has sweet and spicy plums intermingled with Asian spices. This awesomely fresh, full-bodied, explosive, powerful, and velvety-textured gem reveals layer upon layer of black cherries, cassis-liqueur, and new oak. Well-balanced, and focused, it also possesses enormous depth, concentration, and a spectacularly long finish. Projected maturity: 2002-2008. Importer: Martine's Wines, Inc., San Rafael, CA; tel (415) 485-1800.
