Score 93/100 · Drink 2018-2035, William Kelley, Wine Advocate, Feb 2025

Produced from the Drouhin family's domaine holdings, the 1978 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru is drinking brilliantly and ranks among the insiders' choices from this celebrated Burgundy vintage. Offering up a pure and precise bouquet of rose petals, potpourri, red berries and sweet spices, it's medium to full-bodied, suave and satiny, with melted tannins, bright acids and a long, perfumed finish. I recently acquired a few dozen bottles from a cellar in the region, and the wine has yet to disappoint.
