Tasting notes
Like many northern Rhones from this vintage, the 1985 regular cuvee has always been a deliciously ripe, round, precocious-tasting wine, with a concentrated, creamy texture, and smoky bouquet. The amber edge and round, sweet fruit suggest full maturity. Drink it up. Mature now. Last tasted 7/96.

Last Tasted 1/92 Guigal's 1985 is a beautiful dark ruby/purple-colored wine with a classic Cote Rotie nose of smoky bacon fat, black raspberries, pepper, and spices. In the mouth, it is opulent and rich, but still somewhat unevolved, displaying moderate tannins in its long, fleshy, rich finish. Anticipated maturity: 1994-2006.
