Racy and fruity, with berry and mineral character and hints of flint. Medium- to full-bodied, with a solid tannin structure and a long finish. A serious second wine

Tasted at Chateau Le Gay. This is reticent on the nose: light blackberry leaf and a touch of earth. The palate is well balanced with, fine, quite sturdy tannins, great clarity here that is impressive for a second wine, leading to a very elegant, tensile finish. This is very fine for a Deuxieme vin with a hint of freshly rolled tobacco on the aftertaste. Tasted April 2010.

About the producer

Ch. le Gay
Chateau Le Gay

There’s been lots of change at Ch. le Gay since the Parent family arrived in 2002 – with vineyards replanted, the cellars renovated and the winemaking adjusted. No surprise, perhaps, that quality is now higher than ever.
