Pale yellow. Very ripe aromas of peach nectar and candied fruits. Sweet, round, broad and fruity, building nicely toward the back. A bit aggressive but holds its shape nicely. Not especially delineated or gripping but finishes with good persistence.

Revealing fresh white fruits and herbs in the nose, the 2003 Puligny-Montrachet (white) is a sensual, sexy wine. Poached pears, spices, notes of butter, and a powerful underlying minerality are found in its medium-bodied character. In addition, its long, expressive finish displays notes of toasted nuts-infused with lemon drops. Projected maturity: now-2011. Importer: Wilson-Daniels, St. Helena, CA; tel. (707) 963-9661

Enticing pale yellow-green color. Musky aromas of peach, fresh herbs and vanilla. Sweet, fruit-driven flavors of peach and peach blossom, with a licorice-like note suggestive of viognier. Offers a glyceral texture and a palate-dusting finish. The production in Leflaive's village vines was sharply reduced by hail storms on June 12 and July 20, according to Morey.
