Tasting notes
Good medium red. Cool, slightly herbal but highly aromatic nose offers black and blue fruits, violet and licorice. Sweet, silky and perfumed, with surprisingly expressive flavors of dark fruits, chocolate and mocha. Fat but fresh, finishing with ripe, chocolatey tannins. This deceptively approachable wine will probably shut down in bottle.

As one would expect, this is a bigger wine that offers a bit more aromatic complexity with attractive floral aromas of violets, earth and cassis that precede racy, edgy and powerful medium full flavors that are direct, indeed even rather linear on the borderline stern and presently austere finish. This is built to age and a wine that I doubt will be overly approachable young and thus moderate patience will be required.
Good full red. Musky, darker aromas of raspberry, mocha, brown spices and roasted herbs; pure, complex and vineyard-typical. Then fatter and sweeter in the mouth, if a bit mute from the recent sulfuring. Flavors of medicinal red fruits and underbrush. Finishes with dusty, slightly gritty tannins and good but not outstanding length. Not especially classy but broader than the foregoing Chambolle samples.
