2006 Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc

Bright, pale color. Nuanced nose combines grapefruit pith, pepper and fresh herbs. Rich, fat and airy in the mouth, with ripe but understated flavors of pink grapefruit and spice. A silky, broad sauvignon with excellent length. Among the more satisfying examples of New Zealand sauvignon I tried this year, but this doesn't have quite the intensity or grip of the finest vintages here.
