Good bright, dark red. Rich aromas of black cherry, raspberry, licorice and flowers. Fat, sweet and lush; not especially detailed but bigger than the Champans. Finishes with silky tannins. This cuvee includes juice from the young vines in the Clos des Santenots.

Good full red. Subdued but pure nose hints at cherry and spice. The palate offers a chocolatey ripeness but also displays a somewhat tough, medicinal quality today, as well as a minty nuance. There's sweetness here but only moderate depth. Like the last two wines, this had been recently racked when I tried it.
