Tasting notes
The 2000 Meursault Les Cras was vinified and aged entirely in 350 liter "Boillot" barrels, 30% of which were new. An exquisite wine, it explodes from the glass with rich apple and pear aromas. Medium to full-bodied and super-ripe, this is an immensely rich, layered offering, with loads of minerals, white fruits, and spices. It is fresh, refined, and reveals enormous breadth as well as concentration. Projected maturity: now-2010. Importer: Robert Kacher Selections, Washington, DC; tel. (202) 832-9083

Apple and mint on the nose; still a trace of malic acidity. Sweet and supple but with excellent concentration and snap. Finishes firm, with very good grip.
About the producer

Based in Meursault and farming some of the finest vineyards in the Côte de Beaune, Henri Boillot is a leading address in Burgundy. He crafts fine Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, but the estate is best known for its flagship monopole vineyard, Puligny-Montrachet Premier Cru Clos de la Mouchère.
