Tasting notes
The 2009 Il Blu is laced with super-ripe dark red cherries, tobacco, flowers, mint and hints of earthiness. All of the flavors are nicely woven together in a medium-bodied Il Blu that is already starting to show slight hints of tertiary development. The 2009 impresses for its length and balance. I don't expect the 2009 to be a long-term ager, but it should drink well for handful of years.

The 2009 Il Blu shows a hint of unripe tones of green or medicinal herb. Those verdant tones take a little effort to get past. Once you do, the wine brings full intensity and richness to the finish. This wine is probably better suited to near-term consumption. Importer: The Hess Collection, Napa, CA; tel. (707) 255-1144
