The 2008 Art Series Chardonnay is not too much further evolved than the 2011, tasted alongside it. Interesting. This has more power and presence; it shows a baritone of power akin to the 2017, even though the vintage conditions were almost diametrically opposed. The marzipan and nougat come through strong through the finish, however the acidity shows no signs of slowing down. Momentous.

Oak shows a little more than on the 2010. A touch more char. Rich and full in the mouth, still masses of citrus and some orange zest. Power and length and a great line of acid. Less finesse than the 2010 but still very good and ageworthy. (JH)

TA 7.6 g/l. 100% new French oak barrel fermented. Tingly, defined, rounded, lithe and lengthy. Good, but not a show-stopper. (RH)

Elegant purity. Plenty of citrus and melon fresh fruit and the oak finely integrated. No malolactic and 100% of the wine spent 11 months in new oak. Combines purity of fruit with a delicate creaminess and makes me think of an Australian take on Puligny-Montrachet – with a price to match. Very moreish too. (JH)
