Score 88/100 · Drink 2017-2024, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Aug 2017

Tasted at the André Lurton tasting in London. The 2006 La Louviere Blanc has a much more steely and reserved bouquet compared to the 2007, with cold wet granite scents and a touch of oyster shell that is very appealing. The palate is well balanced with good weight in the mouth. It feels strict and linear, a welcome pinch of spice defining the mid-palate although it just drops the ball on the finish and cuts away too quickly. Not bad overall, drink now and over the next five years. Tasted June 2017.

The only dry white I have tasted from Bordeaux with a screw cap finish, this wine displays plenty of fig, melon, and honeyed grapefruit notes, with some subtle smoke and earth in the background. It is medium-bodied, very nicely concentrated, and best drunk over the next 5-6 years. Wine Advocate.February, 2009
