Rich red. Very fruity and aromatic even if not very dense. Sweet and round and appealing. But pretty simple. (JR)

The 2004 Perrin Cotes du Rhone Reserve red comes from the estate holdings of the Perrins at Grand Prebois and in the appellation of Vinsobres. It is a blend of 60% Grenache and the rest equal parts Mourvedre and Syrah. This is a delicious, well-made Cotes du Rhone with peppery, black cherry, and earthy notes and hints of licorice, smoke, and underbrush. The wine is medium-bodied, fleshy, and delicious. Importer: Vineyard Brands, Birmingham, AL; tel. (205) 980-8802
