Tasting notes
A St.-Emilion at the top of its game, Grand Pontet's delicious 1997 exhibits the vintage's finest characteristics - fleshy, succulent, low acid, plump, spice and cherry fruit nicely infused with toasty new oak. This lush, hedonistic effort should continue to drink well for 7-8 years.

Lovely raspberry and cherry character. Medium-bodied, with fine tannins and a fresh finish. Delicious. Drink now through 2003. James Suckling, Wine Spectator 2000.

About the producer

Ch. Grand Pontet was purchased by Domaine Clarence Dillon wines (owners of Ch. Haut-Brion and Ch. la Mission Haut-Brion) in 2021. The last vintage was 2020, with the vineyards absorbed by Ch. Quintus, Clarence Dillon’s prestige Saint-Emilion estate from the 2021 vintage.
