Amazing quality for this estate. Bubbling over with blackberries, violets and cherries, adding hints of new wood. Full-bodied, concentrated, with loads of silky tannins and a long, long, flavorful finish. New World-style Bordeaux. Best from 2005 through 2015. James Suckling, Wine Spectator 1998.

Ch. Grand Pontet was purchased by Domaine Clarence Dillon wines (owners of Ch. Haut-Brion and Ch. la Mission Haut-Brion) in 2021. The last vintage was 2020, with the vineyards absorbed by Ch. Quintus, Clarence Dillon’s prestige Saint-Emilion estate from the 2021 vintage.
