Dark plum/garnet to the rim, with plenty of tannin, earth and spice, this wine is still somewhat angular and austere but displays good fruit and the upside potential for another 5-7 years, although I don’t know if enough tannin will resolve itself to reach complete harmony. About the producer

Fonreaud
Situated at the highest point in the Médoc (at a huge 43 metres above sea-level), this estate is thought to be named after a spring on the site, from which Henry II supposedly drank (a “royal fountain”).
