Score 90/100 · Drink 2015-2025, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Nov 2014

Tasted blind at the Burgundy 2011 horizontal tasting in Beaune. Finally, here is a nose that says “Genevrières” with fine delineation and minerality, poised and vigorous with engaging citrus lemon and limestone scents. The palate on Olivier Leflaive’s Meursault 1er Cru Genevrières 2011 is fresh and vibrant with well-integrated oak lending roundness and depth. The acidity is well judged and it builds in the mouth toward a vibrant, spicy finish that leaves the mouth tingling.

A notably exotic nose features exceptionally fresh and pure aromas of various white flowers, spice elements, black tea and citrus nuances. Here too there is a wonderfully refined mouth feel to the more obviously mineral-inflected medium weight flavors that possess ample punch and detail on the balanced and dry finish. Tasted: Jun 11, 2013. Drink: 2018+
