The 2009 Meursault Genevrières is one of the more understated 2009s here. It shows gorgeous persistence in its layers of silky, perfumed fruit. Peaches, apricots and flowers come together beautifully in this somewhat shy yet immensely promising Burgundy. The essence of crushed rocks and lime inform the sensual finish. I also tasted the 2008, which was utterly spellbinding.

The wines are distinguished for their sheer elegance and classiness. The harvest began on September 9. Jobard aged the wines in 15-20% new oak. The wines were bottled in April, with a light filtration on the last 10-15 liters of each barrel. Importer: Importer: Kermit Lynch Wine Merchant, Berkeley, CA; tel. (510) 524-1524
