Spicy, ripe pears are found in the nose of the medium-bodied 2001 Meursault-Genevrieres. This plump, rich wine has excellent depth of fruit, a friendly, velvety-textured personality, as well as loads of pulp-laden pears and candied apples. Drink it over the next 5-6 years. Smoky, quite aromatic. A bit taut. Full and chewy but a bit dull. (JR)
