Tasting notes
(bottled in February of this year) Subtly complex aromas of apple and flowers. Discreet flavor of ripe peach nicely framed and lifted by sappy acidity. The wine's floral character contributes to its overall impression of lift and energy. Very subtle and light on its feet. Perhaps showing better than the Competes today because it's had a bit more time to recover from the bottling.

Nutty, interesting nose. Crystal clear, well delineated. Powerful with green notes. Impressive. (JR)
Perfume, white flowers, pears, and spices explode from the glass of the 2002 Puligny-Montrachet Folatieres. A rich, sappy, concentrated, deep wine, it regales the palate with syrupy minerals, poached pears, and lilies. This outstanding offering is concentrated, complex, and has a long, spicy finish. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2015. Importer: Kobrand, Inc., New York, NY; tel. (212) 490-9300

About the producer

Louis Jadot is arguably the most consistent négociant house in Burgundy. It has managed to straddle both the entry-level and fine wine market, while retaining respect in both.
