2003 Gevrey Chambertin Evocelles

(a village parcel that Boillot has vinified on its own since 1984) Good deep red with ruby highlights. Very ripe, dark aromas of blackberry and currant. Silky and thick but bright, with surprising lift and freshness to its sweet flavors of black raspberry, blackberry and minerals. Finishes with suave tannins and noteworthy persistence and verve. A terrific village wine.
