Tasting notes
Slightly odd combination of herbaceousness and sweet ripe fruit. Better on the palate, quite smooth but a bit drying at the end. (JH)

Very deep crimson, notably so. Hidden aroma. A bit vapid. Difficult to discern real flavour or fruit. Just very swingeing astringency on the finish. Really puckers the inside of the mouth. Let’s hope it takes on a bit more flesh in barrel. (JR)
This has a very fine nose: good fruit concentration, clean, very pure, not confected in any way, with lively blackberries and violets to the fore. The palate is medium-bodied, well-balanced with fine acidity and tannins. Natural, good focus on the finish with judicious amount of oak. A very fine Citran in a difficult vintage. Tasted April 2008.
