Saturated red-ruby. Vibrant black cherry and licorice aromas, plus an almost exotic oaky note. Sweet, concentrated and suave, with a distinct sappy quality giving shape and energy to the creamy fruit. Finishes broad and very long, with sweet tannins and more energy than the Charmes.

Ruby-red. Primary aromas of blackberry, cassis and violet. More massive and masculine than the Charmes; tighter, more penetrating, less sweet, and less expressive today. Hints of currant and spice cake. Very backward wine that's not yet showing the generosity or smooth grain of the Charmes. This is likely to need a solid eight to ten years of bottle aging.
