Tasting notes
This was another wine actually pressed on those of us who attended the Marie Curie fundraiser in Vintners' Hall in November 2018. But it was not quite as luscious as the RSV 2003. The 1992 season was notoriously wet with mildew and rot but it was saved by a relatively dry August and a small crop. This was not as intense as most wines from this domaine and even had a slightly tart note. It mellowed in the glass after 90 minutes and was not flattered by the comparison with the Romanée-St-Vivant. (JR)

PRODUCTION: 1,899 cases. The 1992 La Tache is a beefy, muscular wine without sufficient fruit to cover its framework. While it may develop a pleasing aromatic profile, it will remain a bony, charmless wine.
About the producer

Domaine de la Romanée-Conti or simply “DRC” is without doubt the most famous domaine in Burgundy and one of the most famous producers on earth. The Grand Cru vineyard from which it takes its name produces the world’s most expensive wine by a long margin.
