Tasting notes
Score 87/100 · Drink 2007-2014, Robert Parker, Jun 2007

Consistently one of the Cotes de Blaye’s finest efforts (as well as a good value), this blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon possesses a dark ruby/purple color in addition to sweet aromas of sandy, loamy soil interwoven with black cherry and currant fruit. It offers delicious fruit, supple tannin, low acidity, and a broad, savory mouthfeel. This serious wine is accessible now, and should age for 5-7 years.

Rather overripe notes on the nose, heavily extracted and then very tough oak tannins. Very jagged and painful to taste. (JR)
