Tasting notes
This deep ruby purple hued St Emilion is rich and concentrated with dense tannins. This density is well balanced by fresh acidity and plenty of ripe, dark berry fruit flavours. This is a wine to lay down for at least 10 years before opening. Two samples were tasted at two different venues and there was a wide variation in quality. asianpalate.com

Pavie Macquin from clay and lime stone soils, this dark colored wine offers, sweet jammy berries and minerality in the nose. 85% Merlot, 14% Cabernet Franc and a smidgeon of Cabernet Sauvignon make up the assemblage. With soft, plush round textures, minerality, purity and freshness, the wine ends with a long wave of sweet, jammy black plums, minerality, coca and licorice. winecellarinsider.com
Super compacted with incredible intensity of minerals, black fruits, licorice and spices. Full and dense. Wild fruit that goes on for minutes. A little firm as always but will open nicely. jamessuckling.com
Rich, dense and powerful but extremely well balanced. Huge depth of fruit. Striking freshness. Bags of ripe tannin. Great ageing potential. James Lawther, decanter.com
