Tasting notes
Very mature but healthy ruby with a pale rim. Cheesey, rather unappetising, nose. Old wood? Lots of acidity and a shortage of fruit in the middle. Very dry finish – unpleasantly so. Not a wine of our times certainly. (JR)

The 1998 Cornas does not reveal the herbaceousness noted last year (and thus is a better wine). However, it possesses more acidity as well as a monolithic, dull character in addition to a hard finish. Importer: Frederick Wildman, New York, NY; tel. (212) 355-0700
