Tasting notes
A gorgeously spicy nose that is pure and elegant speaks of blue and black pinot fruit, warm earth and hoisin nuances. The extremely rich, suave and silky medium weight plus flavors also display an abundance of tannin-buffering dry extract that coats the palate on the long, serious and mildly austere finish. This is built to age and offers impressive depth.

(estate bottling, from the high en Orveaux climat Dark bright red. Expressive aromas and flavors of redcurrant, iron, leather, licorice, stone and dark chocolate. Rich, silky and sweet but with lovely energy giving a crisp quality to the mid-palate. There's a cool menthol element here that contributes to the impression of verve. This should age slowly in bottle.
